Turkey Day

Thanksgiving was so much fun!  We received a call from some of Ryan's siblings that they wanted to come to AZ to celebrate Turkey day with us.  Lets be honest, it was more for the sunshine, but hey we were still glad they came!  Ryan and I only had Thanksgiving day and the weekend off so there wasn't a way to head to Idaho with that little of time.  It was great to enjoy our last sunny AZ Thanksgiving, especially with family.  So crazy to think that we will be leaving AZ in less then 6 months!!

Any who,  some of the family arrived early Wednesday morning, but Ryan and I still had to go to rotation so while we were gone "some" were able to sleep since they drove through the night.  Right off the bat,  Maddex made friends with Abbi.  Maddex liked to chase her and Abbi chase him and of course Abbi loved the food droppings.

But sometimes Maddex just needed his own space for his trains in Abbi's pen

We visited the park many times to play on the toys, feed the ducks, and of course play some sand volleyball.  The weather was beautiful in the low 70s.

The next day was Thanksgiving, Ryan and I were ready to cook up a mean feast.  We also invited the missionaries to have Thanksgiving dinner.  This was probably the funniest holiday dinner due to the many surprises that were unknown.

These two found out that they had dated the same chick....While the missionary has been out serving his mission, Morgan has/had been dating his girlfriend that he left behind and has still been keeping touch with.  Probably the funniest moment ever.  So I had to get a picture of the two of them together. A little awkward at first, but it then smoothed over.

We had a competitive game of bowling one of the nights and to just let people know I won the first round and also bowled a turkey. Devin won the next game, the in-laws totally dominated.

Saturday evening before everyone left we headed to the one and only Oreggano's and then hit up the Mesa Arizona Temple Christmas lights.

It was a great Thanksgiving weekend with the family.  Thanks for coming to see us!!!

iOctober and iNovember

Well, a lot of random stuff has been going on lately and since I haven't been updating the blog frequently here is a post to cover some happenings of October and November.

We had to celebrate Halloween, Abbi made a great horse while trick or treating.  We went on a nice long walk to show the neighborhood her cute outfit.

For my rehabilitation rotation, we did a speciality practice of pain management.  My pharmacist has been very involved with the Arizona Pain Management Society, so we were able to go to a very nice and expensive restaurant with pain docs and anesthesiologists to hear about a new pain medication.  Did I mention I got to eat the best 8 oz filet ever???  Thank you drug reps.

It was time for Ryan to come home at the end of October!  I flew out to Grand Rapids, MI where Ryan was Friday morning and we drove 27 hours straight home to make it back for our rotations on Monday.

Ryan came home, but had 2 weeks straight full of interviews, which we were very thankful for.  We had Broadway Lion King tickets, but Ryan was gone so I took my friend Janet with me.  Can I say it was PHENOMENAL!  I still can't believe the amazing production that was put on.

Abbi has been pretty excited that Ryan is back

We found out that Abbi loves wheat thins.  She stuck her head in the box all by herself, can't waste any crumbs

We had a few chilly days in Arizona, 55 degrees!!!!  Anyways it rained for a good 24 hours, which causes Arizona to flood like crazy, which means BIG puddles for Abbi to run and play in.

And don't worry, we have been bringing in the Holiday cheer early in the Finn household.

Life is finally starting to come back to normal for us.  Ryan was pretty gone for 4.5 months with 2 weeks straight of interviews plus long days in his ICU rotation.  We have a couple more interviews in December and then home for Christmas.  Life is good and we are just enjoying the time we have together now.

The Best Surprise Weekend

Well, sometimes you just need to make a quick weekend trip home to soothe all your woes and surprise your family while your husband is away.  I had 2 more weeks to go till Ryan would finally be home from the 4 months of audition rotations and I just needed some family time.  I told all my sisters I was coming, but to keep it a secret from my parents.  It was the best surprising my parents around midnight.  After a quick night of sleep it was time to watch my nephews play some football and to see my nieces cheer.  Of course Iron Man had to come out and play with it being close to Halloween...

Crawling babies everywhere

After some socializing and playing around it was time for some football.  I was so excited for the cold weather, hot chocolate, nachos and more family time.

After a great Friday with my family, it was time to surprise my in-laws.  Luckily Tanner had his last soccer game and it was a perfect place to surprise them and then celebrate the win with McDonalds!  I see some future skills in this kid just like his favorite Aunt Kali (not Jordan).

After the fun time watching soccer, it was time to hit up some shopping with my family.  Of course all the grandkids want to be with Pappy.

It was a great, quick weekend to see family and help me last till Ryan came home.  I sure wish we lived closer to family, but we have been blessed with great family in Arizona that help fill the void.  I pretty sure my surprises were successful.

Ramblings from September and October

Ramblings is exactly what this post is going to be.  Nothing super exciting has occurred these past couple of months. Pretty much Ryan has been working like crazy in these audition rotations and I have been in a Rehabilitation Hospital rotation and just hanging out with Abbi, but we do have some great news!!!!  WE ARE EXPECTING RYAN IN 5 DAYS!!!! (gotcha there didn't I)  The long, crazy four months of Ryan being gone is finally coming to a close.  I am so proud of him for working so hard and studying like crazy.  Lucky for us, Ryan's hard work has paid off and he has received 7 interviews, four which were from his top programs!!!!  (will post about this later on)

Well since I don't have a cute kid to post about, our little miss Abbi will have to do.  Here is what we have been doing the past couple of months.

1.  Abbi has become quite the outdoors/hiking dog.  She keeps up extremely well and loves being outdoors.  She loves the car rides over, so she can ride out the window and bite at the wind.

The new Phoenix, Temple from our hike

2.  Here are some random pictures of things we have also been up to

Abbi was ready to chew on the biggest bones

Mom was running the vacuum again

A delicious icee/custard ice cream place that the lady friends and I go to quite often do dog treats, so Abbi got a treat as well

Found out Abbi's favorite show is Marley and Me.  She would not move away from the TV.

Abbi got spayed and had to wear the cone of shame

Got caught red-handed in moms dresses

3.  Abbi and I went to Sedona to go and see some fall colors and play in the river, we were in heaven.

4.  A while back in August, my sisters and I were able to take some pictures with our beloved horse Danny who has been in the family longer then myself.  Some may find this odd, but this horse has a very special place in my family.  Unfortunately he is 29 years old and will probably not be with us much longer.  They turned out phenomenal and priceless.  Here is just a few pictures...

5.  And of course we can't forget, the priceless and best thing that technology has invented....FaceTime with Ryan.  Unfortunately this really only happened like once or twice a month but it sure was a special treat.

And to end this post, I have to post this cute picture of my dad....is he not the cutest cowboy???
