Boston: American 4th of July

Ryan couldn't join us this year for the 4th of July due to work, so Morgan and I headed into Boston for one of the best shows in the nation.  Unfortunately there was some crazy weather headed our way (weather? what is that?) Hurricane Arthur, so the Boston fireworks were changed to happen on the 3rd since the hurricane would happen on the 4th.

The Boston Harbor

In Boston, the fireworks are set in the Harbor.  Friends from the ward go every year, where they save seats directly across the barge that sets the fireworks off.  We headed into Boston and got there at 5.  Its pretty much like a fair with food booths and music that go on till dark.  We were directly across the street from the famous MIT, so we walked around the campus for a little bit.

This year the Beach Boys came to play before the firework show so everyone was jamming out.  The fire works were suppose to go off at 10:30 pm, but due to Hurricane Arthur, the meteorologist made the show start earlier at 10 pm.  Unfortunately the show only was able to go for 15 minutes before they evacuated the harbor due to weather.

This show was some of the best fireworks I've seen.  After the evacuation we sped walk to the parking garage and right as we got to the car the hurricane hit and it poured rain, wind and lightning.  It was quite a deal to see.

It was a great 4th of July.  So fun to spend it where so much American history occurred.  Here's to next year's 4th of July and hopefully Ryan can make it.
